A work experience placement at NRF’s London office is the reward awaiting the winners of the GP Challenge Final. To enter this competition, students must form a team and answer the following question:
When it comes to planning for risk, what do great lawyers and Grand Prix teams have in common?
You may have come across the phrase ‘commercial awareness’ in your law career research, and the GP Challenge is a perfect example of how to develop this ability. Lawyers do not work in isolation, and must understand their clients’ businesses. To effectively advise McLaren Honda on the complex legal issues facing an international company, NRF lawyers will need to have a good grasp of the company’s work, its goals, and the wider industry to which it belongs.
Kesh Kularatne, Trainee Recruitment Advisor at Norton Rose Fulbright, says: 'The GP Challenge is a fantastic way to gain work experience and to win an invite-only trip to the McLaren Honda Technology Centre. Winning work experience through a competition such as this will be a great addition to your CV.'
Five teams will be selected to go through to the Final, which will be held at NRF’s London office on 9 December – before applying make sure that all of your team members will be able to attend. Each team must have between three and five members, all of whom must be undergraduates at UK universities, and at least one team member will be studying a non-Law degree.
Are you a fan of Formula One? As well as the work experience placement, the winning team will also secure a trip to the McLaren Honda Technology Centre!
